Indigenous spirituality and its approach to peacebuilding offers pathways for cosmic harmony, beauty, and respect. It affirms the celebration of life and the continued co-existence of all creation through self-restraint, respect, ecological economics, justice, a sense of finitude and the need to share space for flourishing of the entire oikos. This is why indigenous tradition matters, and we need to uphold indigenous particularities and contention for self-dignifying indigeneity towards authentic cross-border interlocution and engagement.

Zulunungsang Lemtur belongs to Ao Naga Tribal community from India. Dr. Lemtur received his PhD from GTU. He is the author of Climate Refugees: Towards a Tribal Theology of Restoration and Tribal Cultural Imagination and Theological Conversations. His area of interest centers around ecological concerns/eco-theology, Interreligious Dialogue, peacebuilding, contextual and liberation theologies, indigenous studies, tribal theology, and Jurgen Moltmann. Rev. Mwaambi G Mbûûi is a PhD Theology and Ethics student at the GTU, Berkeley, working at the intersection of constructive African Public Theology, African Philosophy and Liberative Ethics. He thus identifies his integrative theo-ethical approach as a Drumbeat Theology project. Mbûûi, an ordained minister with extensive experience in “Full-time” ministry, is also an accomplished singer-musician and recording artist, poet, preacher/public speaker and knitter. As such, he’s keen on interrogating the interface of artistic expressions and bold theo-ethical engagement, towards sustainable social transformation. Mbûûi hails from Kenya/East Africa, and is a proud father of 4 daughters. He is a passionate Pan-Africanist with the passionate/deep desire for forging meaningful global alliances, for a healthier and more prosperous “Global Village.” Rev. Mbûûi self-identifies as an Afro-Christian, and is the Founding Director of Kilele Africa Ministry.

Raphael D. Mkuzi is a 4th year PhD Candidate at the GTU in Berkeley, CA, and is doing research in the Department of Historical and Cultural Studies of Religion with a concentration in Comparative Religion. He originates from Malawi, Africa and has a publication on the topic: The Role of Reconciliation in Interreligious Dialogue and Sustainable Peacebuilding between Muslims and Christians in the Context of Malawi. He did a Master Advanced degree at the Catholic University of Leuven, in Belgium, Europe. Right now, his research at GTU focuses on the theme of interreligious peacebuilding through promoting economic justice in the context of Malawi, Africa.
