Dr. Iyad Abumoghli is the founder and director of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Faith for Earth Initiative. He has more than 35 years of experience with international organizations, the private sector, and scientific institutions. Dr. Abu Moghli’s expertise focus on strategic planning, sustainable development, natural resources management, knowledge and innovation, and interfaith collaboration. Before joining UNEP, he served for 14 years in the United Nations Development Programme.

As a Programme Director for the Brahma Kumaris and UKBK representative at the UN, Vienna, Maureen works with diverse communities in building spiritual capacity in times of transition. As a presenter at several climate change conferences, she has a deep interest in the spiritual and ethical dimensions of climate change, the nature of harmony, and the connection between our inner state of being and the state of our Earth. She has along term involvement in inter-religious dialogue and represents the Brahma Kumaris on the Board of Religious Leaders of the Elijah Interfaith Institute and is a Spiritual Ambassador to The Living Peace Projects. In April 2022 she travelled to Ukraine with religious leaders as part of the Faith in Ukraine initiative. Maureen is part of the Strategic Circle of the Spirit of Humanity Forum, offering a safe space for dialogue among leaders and change-makers seeking transformation based on core human values.

Daniel Perell joined the Baha'i International Community’s United Nations Office as a Representative in 2011. His areas of work include social and sustainable development, climate change and the environment, and global governance. He is currently co-chair of the Coalition for the UN We Need. In 2010, Mr. Perell received a JD from the University of Virginia School of Law and an MA in Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School at Tufts University. Mr. Perell has worked with the International Service for Human Rights in Geneva, the UN in Aceh, Indonesia and other organizations in the Marshall Islands and Chile.

The UN Environment Programme (UNEP) launched the Faith for Earth Coalition in November 2017. The goal of Faith for Earth is to strategically engage with faith-based organizations and partner with them to collectively achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and fulfill the objectives of the 2030 Agenda.

Faith for Earth has three main goals: to inspire and empower faith organizations and their leaders to advocate for protecting the environment, to green faith-based organizations’ investments and assets to support the implementation of SDGs, and to provide them with knowledge and networks to enable their leaders to effectively communicate with decision-makers and the public.

Dr Carlos Zepeda is Assistant Director of Policy and Practice at the Jesuit and ecological inspired Laudato Si’ Research Institute (LSRI), Campion Hall, University of Oxford . He works as a catalyst transforming the Institute’s research on integral ecology into action. He mediates between the Institute’s academic integral ecology research, policy actors and civil society globally especially Indigenous and faith-based communities. His research explores the politics of sustainable development beyond anthropocentric frameworks in the Global South, the development of integral ecology transformative research methodologies and the challenges of applying ethics, values, spiritual and faith-based ecological principles across policies and practices globally. Carlos is Chair of the Faith for Earth Steering Committee at the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP)
